A Schuler This is really great work, more people need to know about Flamingo Jones. Golden Wheels especially soars; it is indeed an epic tear jerking synthpop juggernaut. I look forward to more. Favorite track: Golden Wheels.

Jake C. Whatever the hell I just heard maybe one of the most fabulously fantastical EPs I've every enjoyed. Lovely compositions, shimmering production, and a unique narrative make this a marvelous and infectious record. Favorite track: Shoot Out at Flamingo Plaza.

Alpha Chrome Yayo There are few artists who do 'concept' quite like the enigmatic Flamingo Jones, with Flight of the Flamingo a quasi-autobiographical tale of the rose-tinted bird leaving the roost to patrol the streets in cyborg form.

Frankly, this would be enough to hook me, but it is SO much more than the (incredible) Attenborough/Verhoeven premise.

It's as musically far-reaching as the storyline, with heart-wrenching synth lines, pop earworms and cyberpunk attitude.

Very impressive and utterly unique. Favorite track: Flight of the Flamingo.

Meet me under the palms tonight Bury me with my name Meet me under the palms tonight Things will never be the same I don't understand what's right for you You don't understand what's right for me Look into the mirror on the wall Tell me what it is you see I can see the signs, your arms are open wide I lied to you, I lied to you baby Nothing I can do, can make you see the truth You lied to me, you lied to me baby Meet me under the palms tonight This is where it must end Meet me under the palms tonight I'll never see you again I don't understand what's right for you You don't understand what's right for me Look into the mirror on the wall Tell me what it is you see

Lying in the alley, dying in the sun They said they could rebuild me I could be the only one The city needs a saviour and I could be the hired gun I watched them take me apart and then they put me back together Replaced my fallible heart and plugged my mind into the ether There's only one thing I know I never wanted to be here I ride on golden wheels along the darkest highway Take the bitter pill, there's no such thing as my way From the city of light into the cold daylight I'm just a broken wreck so bring back the night So that I might never go So that I might never know

about

It always helps me to have a concept when writing some music, so the concept for this EP is the story of a Flamingo who leaves his hometown swamp and heads for the city.
Once there, our hero falls for the wrong girl and ends up embroiled in a seedy underworld of crime. Seeking revenge for the death of his lover he is fatally wounded only to be brought back from the brink as the future of cyborg law enforcement.
Now doomed to patrol the dark highways and byways of the city dealing out justice wherever it's required, the only thing he longs for is a return to the swamp of his innocent youth.

This tale is told via 2 high octane synthwave instrumentals and a couple of epic tear jerking synthpop juggernauts. Enjoy!
